I have to admit today that how gorgeous the vintage garments are. I was dazzled by lots of amazing vintage clothes when I was picking up the garments for the models. All of the vintage clothes came from the head office and have good qualities. The head office collects nice vintage garments and then distributes them to every CLCI charity shop in the UK. Well, let's see what I did today.
The look: Jungle green high collar top; Khaki trouser dungaree (vintage); Blue black and white top(vintage).
I also found another black dungaree with different material, but I did not really want to use black today cause it was another cloudy day. Then I had a try to put the blue black and white top on the dungaree, well it looked cool though, but it seemed to be short of something. I looked around then the jungle green high collar top came into my eyes, aha here it is.
Ok all of garments for the best model had gone in my basket, let me just hang them aside. I wanted to pick up all clothes at first then put them on the models.
It was quite a hard job to dress three top on the model. Of course I removed the models arms and hands, but this time I had to stuff the arms into two sleeves which the sleeves of the Jungle top and the dungaree then I was able to fill the arms back to the body.
The look: Light coral coat(vintage); Jade spot top(vintage); Khaki suede skirt.
I picked up these two out fit at first as I really wanted to use the light coral coat.
The look: Light apricot blazer; Light apricot knitwear; Mint knee length skirt.
After the first two looks had been done, I knew I could make a collection. That probably included coral or that sort of colour and green and khaki or sand, and the colours should be light and soft anyhow. And the looks should be able to present a feminine and capable feeling.
The look: Jade and black shirt(vintage); Grey jumper; Sand trousers.
I could not find any light and soft colour coat or blazer. I considered for a while that should I match the jumper with a pure light pink shirt or this jade one, the former one made the look quite dull so I picked up the latter. However I still did not feel right when I dress all the garments on the model cause she looked too casual. Oh I see, the all other three model have belts, so why do not add a belt to her? See, thanks to the belt and she is smart as well now.
The blue vintage dress is amazing. I meant to match it match it with a vintage royal blue blazer, but it is so beautiful that I could not bear to cover a piece of it, I wanted to show it to everybody. I love the red top and white spot and midnight green top, but they were not appropriate for the main collection. So I gathered the three bright colour garment to be a new collection.
The look: Red top(vintage); Dark grey knee length skirt; Black straw hat.
The look: Black dress; White spot and midnight green top(vintage); Oxford blue wool hat.
I asked James to help me to do the man model today cause the shop was closing in one hour and he had nothing to do. It was pretty interesting that the sleeves of the white shirt and the blazer were tied by James behind the model. But to honest, that made the model look slimmer and cooler compare with my way which just leave the sleeves by the body.
The look: Pale cerulean suit(vintage), black cotton shirt(vintage)
Playing time: Cute straw toys
